Although there isn’t any concrete plans yet as to when we will go for our honeymoon( whenever budget allows us), Niels and I are so excited about going to the Maldives
. We have both been dying to go to this beautiful and exotic country with 1,190 islands of which 200 are inhabited. Maldives has a very special place in our hearts. It is the country of which Niels and I would enjoy talking about. We both never heard about this country not until our International Investment and Trade professor at Erasmus has used it as the “only case study” he could relate to throughout the course! During the lecture hours and even afterwards, all we could think of is “banana and fish”. The mere fact of just talking about this country has brought us closer to each other. The gaps between our lifestyle (western and developing country) differences became smaller everyday especially when we talk about how my childhood has been a matter of choosing between banana and fish for breakfast, lunch and dinner just like any less fortunate people in Maldives. Furthermore as a solid MSc. Business-Society Management graduate, I am mostly attracted to the Maldives because its government is concerned about the protection of the environment. It hasn’t contributed much to the factors causing global environmental change and encourages everyone to help the country sustain its pristine form as long as possible. The air is pure as can be, the seas are unpolluted and the nature is at its very best.
We hope that sonner or later this plan will materialised and that we will be able to experience the sunny side of life at the Maldives
